The Scarlet Sails Alumni Celebration was held in Mariupol. The event was remembered for its special effects, grandiose light show and the main symbol — the yacht "Assol", popular artists also took part in it. Izvestia correspondent Mary Badunts also saw all this.

"It was very beautiful. This is the first time I've seen this in my life. Gorgeous. I'm in shock," one of the graduates shared her impressions.

Mariupol graduates are confident that the adult life that awaits them ahead will be a happy one. As the correspondent noted, the most exciting and romantic part of the celebration was the passage of the yacht "Assol" with scarlet sails in front of the graduates.

"In another life, we had everything else. We have a lot of other emotions right now. The whole beauty of the city was revealed," said Ilya Istratov, a graduate.

By tradition, as in St. Petersburg, "Scarlet Sails" began with a concert on the city pier. The first star presenter of the event in Mariupol, theater and film actress Lyanka Gryu, admitted that she had never seen such energy anywhere.

"Today will be remembered by them forever. Because they're so smart, they're all such little princesses and princes, and I can see how carefully they treat each other. We are doing everything possible to make today a memorable day for them," she said.

This year, the organizers have brought more equipment. The show was made even brighter, louder and more impressive. The headliner was the Yin-Yang band. The artists of the New Russian Circus also prepared the show for the graduates.

"School is ending, childhood is ending, this time is ending and it's time to move into a new quality, into adulthood, and it's always exciting for them, at such moments you always want to support them," said Anatoly Okulov, an artist at the Moscow Nikulina Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

The Scarlet Sails festival takes place only in two Russian cities. In 2022, for the first time, memorable sails appeared in front of graduates of the region. This was made possible by Channel Five, ROSSIYA Joint-Stock Bank and the Foundation for Assistance to Children of Donbass.

"Today we have brought 500 kilowatts of light. These are some kind of cosmic figures, the average person does not understand at all how much it is. It's very bright, very much. We can be heard for dozens of kilometers, and we can be seen at least 20-30 km away. And I wouldn't be surprised if we can be seen from space. I'm not exaggerating," said Sergei Rozanov, director of photography for the Scarlet Sails project in Mariupol.

Many graduates will stay to study in their native Mariupol. Now it is one of the most promising and developing cities in Russia.

"You can see that the city has not been recognized over the years, so, of course, many people decide to stay here and link their fate with our city. Moreover, our educational institutions are wonderful," said Anton Koltsov, Mayor of Mariupol.

Special attention was paid to security. Police and Rosgvardiya officers kept order. There were fears that it would not be possible to realize everything planned: the weather these days was constantly showing character. But thanks to careful preparation and repeated rehearsals, everything went as planned.

"Believe in yourself, dream, never forget about it. Because miracles happen. You have to wait, dream, and believe in yourself. This is the most important thing, good luck, joy and love to everyone," said graduate Margarita Katunina.

The day before, the graduates told about the festive atmosphere at the Scarlet Sails in Mariupol. Chervonya Oglu, a graduate, also shared that he would like to get an engineering degree to help rebuild the city, or become a programmer, because he likes this field more.
