The Trump administration assured Iran of the one-time nature of attacks on nuclear facilities

The administration of US President Donald Trump has officially notified Iran that the strikes on its nuclear facilities are a one-time act and do not mean the beginning of a military campaign to change the regime. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal on June 22, citing a senior American official.

"The US official said that the Trump administration has made it clear to Iran that the strike is a one—time act, and not the start of a war to change the regime," the publication says.

The US military attacked key targets in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan using B-2 bombers and submarines with Tomahawk cruise missiles. It is clarified that in the address, Trump said that his target "were Iran's three main nuclear facilities <...>, and the attack was not aimed at the country's leaders."

According to the WSJ, the US president contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately after the operation, and he expressed "great gratitude." Trump promised to launch new strikes if Iran retaliated by attacking American troops in the region and rejected diplomatic attempts to establish peace.

"The next strikes will be much more powerful and easier. There will either be peace, or a tragedy will come for Iran, much worse than what has happened in the last eight days," Trump warned.
