The United States violated the UN Charter and international law when it attacked Iran's nuclear facilities. This was announced on June 22 by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi.

"The United States, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has committed a gross violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT (Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. — Ed.), striking at Iran's peaceful nuclear installations," he wrote on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

According to Araqchi, the United States faces serious lasting consequences. The minister stressed that in accordance with the UN Charter, which allows for a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all possible options to protect its sovereignty, interests and people.

The attack on three nuclear facilities became known on June 21. US President Donald Trump announced that the attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to the leader of the United States, the operation was successful.

Later, Reuters reported that the American side used B-2 bombers in the strikes. Fox News channel journalist Sean Hannity reported on June 22 that the United States dropped up to six bunker bombs on the Iranian Fordo and fired up to 30 Tomahawk missiles at Isfahan and Natanz.
