Washington, by hitting Iran's three nuclear facilities, actually started a war with Tehran. This was announced on June 22 by political scientist, retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen in an interview with Izvestia.

"A very bad decision. <...> In fact, the United States has started a war with Iran. I wonder how he (Iran — Ed.) will respond," the ex-lieutenant colonel noted.

Rasmussen recalled that there is no evidence that Iran has nuclear weapons. According to him, after the attack, Tehran is no longer holding back anything, and it will definitely start developing and other countries watching what is happening, too. The expert clarified that the US decision to attack the Islamic Republic makes the country unreliable within the framework of promises and negotiations.

"They (the United States — Ed.) caused damage to the centrifuges, but it will be interesting to see the damage assessment. Some of these objects are located at a depth of half a kilometer. No bombs will reach them," Rasmussen said.

The expert pointed out that the US attack is unlikely to be a one-time action, however, in his opinion, Tehran can destroy all Washington's facilities in the Middle East, which will be very expensive.

"Iran has enough forces: so far they have only hit military targets in Israel, unlike Israel, which does not care about civilians — look at Gaza," Rasmussen concluded.

The attack on three nuclear facilities became known on June 21. The American leader said that the attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to Trump, the operation was successful. Later, Reuters reported that the American side used B-2 bombers in the strikes. Fox News channel journalist Sean Hannity reported on June 22 that the United States dropped up to six bunker bombs on the Iranian Fordo and fired up to 30 Tomahawk missiles at Isfahan and Natanz.
