Finland has reported the detention of a local resident for crossing the border with the Russian Federation.

A Finnish citizen was detained on suspicion of illegally crossing the state border with Russia. This was reported on June 21 by Yle TV and radio company with reference to the republic's border guard.

"The border Patrol detained a man on suspicion of violating the state border. He is suspected of illegally crossing the border by land from Finland to Russia and back," the publication says.

According to the TV and radio company, an investigation has been launched into this fact.
