1,418 candles were lit in Moscow as part of the Memory Line campaign


Participants of the annual patriotic action "Memory Line" lit 1,418 candles on the Crimean embankment in Moscow. The footage of the event on June 21 is published by Izvestia.
The campaign is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). Each lit candle is a symbol of one of the 1,418 days of those tragic events.
The "Candle of Memory" in honor of the heroes of the Second World War is held in different regions of Russia and beyond.
Valery Anisimov, Chief of Staff of the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement Immortal Regiment of Russia, announced on May 1 the launch of the memorable patriotic action Immortal Regiment on Transport in Moscow and the Moscow Region. The event lasted 12 days.
