On June 21, the Mayor of Mariupol, Anton Koltsov, congratulated school graduates at the Scarlet Sails festival, which was held in the city.

According to him, 827 people graduated this year, 520 of whom went to St. Petersburg under the program, which was organized with the support of the chief of the region and the administration of the northern capital. According to the mayor, the children will have extensive cultural and social programs. They will also participate in the "Scarlet Sails" on the banks of the Neva River.

In addition, Koltsov added that major repairs had been carried out in schools in Mariupol, thanks to which they had become practically new. Currently, there are 29 schools in the city, but by September 1 their number will increase to 32, the mayor promised.

"As of today, 29 schools are already functioning. <...> Major repairs are underway, this is a new school, completely with new furniture and new equipment. It is a pleasure to study there, both for students and teachers," Koltsov said.

According to him, now a large number of people choose to stay in Mariupol, as the city is actively developing. He clarified that the authorities have already begun to address the issue of creating new jobs for residents.

The main holiday of graduates of the DPR "Scarlet Sails" began in Mariupol earlier that day. The event has been held in the republic since 2022. The organizers of the holiday are Channel Five, ROSSIYA Joint-Stock Bank and the Foundation for Assistance to Children of Donbass.
