Leonid Chirkov, a participant in the first World Total Kombat Federation mixed martial arts tournament in the history of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), which takes place in Mariupol, called the event large-scale and noted the high level of performing fighters. He told Izvestia about this on June 21.

"This is a big event, in fact, a large-scale one. Such fighters have arrived, there are very famous fighters here. <...> The boy will fight with Fight Nights soon and so on," Chirkov emphasized.

His duel opened the competition. The athlete secured an early victory by knocking out his opponent with a kick.

"Yes, the opening fight is always some kind of responsibility, as you need to get the audience going, show the beauty. That's what they came here for. I'm always charged up before fights, I tune in," the participant of the tournament shared his impressions.

He added that Mariupol has very friendly and hospitable residents.

The tournament started in Mariupol on this day. Promoter Vladimir Hryunov organized the tournament, in which more than 300 fighters participate. Kevin Johnson, an ex-contender for the world champion belt, took part in the competition. Hryunov stressed that it was a great honor for him to host the competition in the liberated city.
