Pushilin stated the importance of liberating every settlement in the DPR
The liberation of every settlement on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is of critical importance to Russia. This was announced by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"It is absolutely clear why the progress is underway, the importance of each locality, including the village of Zaporizhia, is important. I'll tell you this: even every forest belt is important, because, as a rule, the enemy is hiding there either himself, units, or equipment is hiding there, or there are certain barriers," Pushilin stressed.
He added that the liberation of each settlement is of great importance to the Russian military. According to the head of the DPR, every meter of Russian land "is in the center of attention in the truest sense of the word."
According to him, the advance of the Russian military towards the Dnipropetrovsk region is due not only to the idea of creating a sanitary zone, but also to the "logic of warfare."
He stressed that this approach had already produced positive results in the examples of the liberation of other settlements. At the same time, the exact plans of the military command are unknown, Pushilin added.
"The military does what is most profitable and expedient for them, which will allow them to preserve their personnel during the liberation of the territory of the DPR," concluded the head of the DPR.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation liberated the town of Zaporizhia earlier that day. It was clarified that in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 200 soldiers and three armored vehicles over the past day. After clearing buildings, basements, and clearing mines in the surrounding area, the military personnel of the Vostok group of forces raised the Russian flag.
