Pashinyan proposed replacing the Zangezur corridor with a "Crossroads of the World"

The Zangezur Corridor project in Armenia will cease to exist, and the Crossroads of the World will appear instead. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on June 21 at a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Istanbul.
"We said that there would be no Zangezur corridor, there would be a "Crossroads of the World." What does this mean? This means mutual recognition and respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty and equality," he said at the meeting, which was broadcast on the Armenian government's YouTube channel.
The Prime Minister noted that he sees no reason why representatives of Turkey and Azerbaijan should not travel around Armenia. According to him, the "Crossroads of the World" implies the possibility of transport transit.
Pashinyan added that his proposed project involves the restoration of the Meghri railway, which will connect the two countries, as well as the southwestern regions of Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
"In the future, this will connect Armenia with Turkey, Azerbaijan with Turkey and Georgia, as well as Azerbaijan and Armenia with Iran," the prime minister added.
On May 26, Pashinyan stated that the Constitution of Armenia may be amended in order to achieve peace in the conflict with Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister stressed that the opportunity to conclude a peace agreement should not be missed.
