The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of the village of Zaporizhia in the DPR

Military personnel of the Vostok group of forces raised the Russian flag after the liberation of the village of Zaporizhia in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The relevant footage was distributed by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 21.

"During the battle, units of the 37th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) suffered significant losses and were forced to leave the village," the Defense Ministry added.

It is specified that the stormtroopers deployed Russian flags after clearing buildings, basements, as well as clearing mines in the surrounding area.

"The liberation of the village of Zaporizhia is an important step towards the complete liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic," the ministry stressed.

The stormtroopers were supported by tanks with non-standard drone protection.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation liberated the town of Zaporizhia earlier that day. It was clarified that in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 200 soldiers and three armored vehicles over the past day. In addition, the manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Uspenovka, Temirovka, Olgovskoye, Poltavka and Malinovka of the Zaporizhia region.
