Olympic gymnastics champion Nikita Nagorny announced that he had unofficially ended his professional career, but did not rule out the possibility of returning to the sport. He told TASS reporters about this on June 21.

Since October, Nagorny has held the post of Vice-president of the Russian Gymnastics Federation.

"I've just finished my professional career unofficially. Maybe I'll come back — how do you know?" said the athlete.

Nagorny is 28 years old. At the Tokyo Olympics, he won a gold medal in the team event, as well as two bronze medals in the individual all—around and on the crossbar. He also won Olympic silver at the 2016 team tournament, three world titles and eight European Championships.

On June 11, the Russian Gymnastics Federation announced the return of Russian athletes and coaches to the world stage. It was specified that athletes from the Russian Federation will compete at the 2025 Trampoline World Cup in Portugal, Germany, Bulgaria and France. In addition, Russian athletes are scheduled to participate in the trampoline World Championships and the World Championships. Judges from Russia are also allowed to participate in world competitions.
