The confrontation between Israel and Iran could escalate into a global conflict. This was announced on June 21 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"There is only one obvious danger — the transition of the Middle East conflict into a global one, which, by the way, is constantly being talked about by [American leader Donald] himself. Trump. And here the United States, Israel and Iran must diligently pray according to the sacred books of all Abrahamic religions," Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.

In his opinion, Trump will have to decide the conflict in Israel on his own, since this "country is of special importance to the United States."

At a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) on June 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Russia supports Iran in its struggle for its interests in the field of peaceful nuclear energy. The Head of State noted that Russia's position towards Iran and its legitimate interests has never changed.
