In St. Petersburg, as part of the SPIEF, a solemn flag raising took place on the fishing trawler of the Kapitan Taran Group of Companies. The vessel was built with VTB funds. This was reported by the bank's press service.

"Improving the technological base of enterprises always requires significant investments and costs, but without this, further growth or maintaining market leadership positions is impossible. The fleet of the FOR Group of Companies is not just modern and well—equipped fishing vessels, it is whole floating factories — a necessary element of the Russian food industry. It is also important to note that in this project, funds are being raised specifically for the construction of our own modern vessels at a domestic shipyard," said Denis Bortnikov, Deputy President and Chairman of the VTB Management Board.

Earlier, VTB allocated loans to the shipowner company in the amount of 7 billion rubles for the construction of three fishing trawlers under the state keel quotas program. The first vessel built under the contract was the Dmitry Kozharsky, and the second was the Captain Taran trawler. Both vessels were built at the facilities of the Vyborg Shipyard of USC in the Leningrad region.

"Thanks to the financial support of VTB Bank, the FOR Group of Companies will continue to provide Russians with high—quality fish with the help of new vessels," said Alexander Borisov, CEO of the shipowner company.

46 crew members are comfortably accommodated in the living quarters of the Captain Taran trawler, and there is a private hospital. The catch is processed directly on board. The vessel has modern equipment with a planned catch and round-the-clock freezing capacity of up to 105 tons of fish per day. The estimated annual catch is at least 10 thousand tons of bottom rocks.
