Pakistan has proposed nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize

On June 20, the Pakistani government officially recommended nominating US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026.
"The government of Pakistan has decided to officially recommend President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize," the government said in a statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
It is noted that the relevant initiative is a sign of recognition of Trump's "decisive diplomatic intervention" in resolving the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.
The government also stressed that thanks to the actions of the head of the White House, a cease-fire was ensured and the outbreak of conflict between the two nuclear powers, which could lead to "catastrophic consequences" for millions of people, was neutralized.
"President Trump's leadership during the Pakistan-India crisis of 2025 clearly demonstrates the continuation of his legacy of pragmatic diplomacy and effective peace—building," the publication concluded.
In November 2024, British politician Lord Michael Ashcroft announced Trump's dream of winning the Nobel Prize. Later, on January 21, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that he would support Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize if the American president could keep his promise to end all existing conflicts.
