The Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua spoke about strengthening strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation

Nicaragua intends to strengthen strategic cooperation with Russia, China and Iran to counter sanctions pressure, Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, Special presidential envoy for the development of relations with Russia, said in an interview with Izvestia at SPIEF 2025.

The republic wants to discuss new supplies of its products to Russia

"We have a special cooperation with the Russian Security Council. We have already participated in various meetings. For example, last month we had a meeting with [Secretary of the Russian Security Council] Sergei Shoigu. And it is important to maintain these close ties, because we have plans to prevent color revolutions against our people. We need to be in touch and aware of the real threats," the politician said.
