Indoor all-season surfing center to be built in Moscow

An all-season indoor surfing center with a beach and waves imitating ocean waves will appear in Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye in the west of Moscow. This was announced on Friday, June 20, according to the website of the Moscow City Hall.

The agreement on the construction of the facility was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Sberbank President German Gref at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, NSN notes.

The total area of the center will be 30 thousand square meters. m. It will include a surf space, an indoor beach with a children's water park, as well as a thermal center with a SPA and fitness area.

The pool with an area of more than 12 thousand square meters will be designed for simultaneous training of more than 90 surfers. The wave generation system will be able to reproduce about 30 types of waves every 8-16 seconds, and their height will reach 2 m, Moscow 24 notes. The duration of the trip on the longest wave will be up to 30 seconds, which will allow for professional competitions.

The construction is scheduled to be completed in 2028, according to the Moscow City News Agency.
