It was decided to start issuing Islamic tokens, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, told Izvestia in an interview at SPIEF 2025. According to him, they will also help to conduct cross-border settlements.

"Blockchain can become a platform that will allow for more active interaction with Islamic countries. I am optimistic about this story," the MP said.

According to him, the total amount of funds raised for Islamic banking over the three years of the experiment is still small — about 4 billion rubles, which is explained by the long adaptation to new rules and bureaucratic procedures. The main activity occurred in the last year of the experiment, when most of the participants completed registration.

"However, this experiment has potential, so it is being asked to be extended for another three years. We will adopt the bill in July. We expect that the amount of funds that will be involved in this project will increase to 1 trillion rubles," Anatoly Aksakov added.
