The authorities want to raise the mortgage repayment for large families to 900 thousand.

In Russia, they can double the mortgage repayment for large families, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, told Izvestia in an interview at SPIEF 2025.

"A bill has already been submitted to the State Duma on increasing payments to large families to repay mortgages. Now they can get 450 thousand. So far, everyone seems to support this proposal. This is a good incentive for the funds to be used to pay off the loan. I think, when considering the draft budget for next year, a new figure will appear and the mortgage repayment for large families will be raised to 900 thousand," the deputy said.

He added that Russia currently has a large-scale fertility support program, including maternity capital. But the demographic situation requires additional incentive measures.

"Given that the president has instructed us to work out these tools, I think even in the fall we will begin to consider bills on launching family investments," Anatoly Aksakov said.

According to him, the family investment program may start working as early as next year. The authorities are also discussing the possibility of allowing maternity capital to be invested in it. The deputy admitted that a bill on a new use case for the parent capital will be introduced this year.
