A climber from the Rostov region died while climbing Mount Elbrus. This was announced on June 20 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kabardino-Balkaria.

"A tourist without signs of life was found on Mount Elbrus (at an altitude of 5,100 m)," the Telegram channel says.

According to preliminary data, the 35-year-old man decided to make a solo ascent of the mountain. His body was discovered by another group of climbers. The ministry added that eight rescuers were working at the scene, they were able to safely lower the body from the mountain.

On June 16, two tourists from Moscow disappeared on Elbrus, and rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations began searching for them.
