Dmitriev stated the benefits for Russia from investments from friendly countries

Russia, first of all, benefits from partnership with friendly countries, and attention is now being focused on them. Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), told Izvestia on June 20 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
He answered the question about how possible it is for foreign companies to return to the Russian market.
"I think the priority is definitely on Russian companies, which have shown crazy results, very successfully replacing many of those companies that came in. Therefore, our focus is on attracting investors from the global South. The President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin] very correctly said that what benefits Russia, and Russia benefits from investments from our friendly countries. And where it is really useful, it is possible from some Western partners," Dmitriev explained.
He added that Russia has more than 20 investment partnerships with various countries. According to the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, they are actively investing in a large number of projects.
On the same day, the National Security Adviser, commander of the Royal Guard of Bahrain, the son of King Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, during SPIEF 2025, announced the positive impact of Russia's policy on the investment climate. According to him, it also plays an important role in the development of strategically important sectors of the economy, in particular energy and industry.
