VK CEO Vladimir Kiriyenko on June 20, at the session "Digital Platforms and Ecosystems — 2030: What will the market be like?" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025), called partnership and seamless operation the main directions of the company's development.

He noted that digital technologies are now moving towards a personalized world that will take into account both the age category and the individual interests of the user.

According to Kiriyenko, the main changes will occur in platforms that tend to have a large number of services.

"We need to answer one question — are you building a closed platform or an open one? We are building an open platform. This means that we are openly and comfortably partnering to achieve the best result," the VK CEO emphasized.

Kiriyenko pointed out that currently a person has to take several actions to watch a video or place an order from an online store, but in the future, unnecessary barriers will be eliminated. And it will be possible to do this seamlessly thanks to Russian technological solutions, he believes.

"Our response to the development of the platform is partnership. Our answer is to search for technological solutions that will allow for quick and seamless integration," concluded Kiriyenko.

On the eve of the SPIEF 2025 session, VK CEO spoke about the development of the MAX digital platform in terms of payment transactions. He noted that the company had abandoned the development of its own payment systems. According to Kiriyenko, it makes no sense to invest in areas where the company has a strong partner base.
