The PSB noted the strengthening of the position of small businesses in exports

International markets are no longer the prerogative of large companies, as small and medium—sized businesses occupy an increasing share in this area. This was stated by the Chairman of the PSB Peter Fradkov at the SPIEF-2025 session "International Financial Cooperation: Russia, Africa and Asia are a new financial triangle."

According to the RSBI Business Activity Index survey conducted by the PSB, the share of small exporting companies has increased 1.5 times over the past two years. Banks are developing new technological financial solutions for international settlements that are effective for this particular business segment, Fradkov noted.

"We are witnessing a global trend — more and more enterprises from the SME segment are involved in foreign economic activity. International business has ceased to be the prerogative of large companies," Fradkov said. He stressed that small enterprises are not suitable for the tools of large corporations and need appropriate technological "boxed" solutions.

"We have already implemented such mechanisms. Their creation and active use is another global trend in the transformation of international settlements," Fradkov said.

The head of the PSB also noted the active fragmentation of the market — friendly countries are creating their own bilateral and multilateral financial structures. He added that all trends in the development of alternative international settlements in Russia are actively supported by the Central Bank. In particular, an experimental legal regime has been launched in Russia, allowing transactions with digital currency for foreign economic activity.
