The US business community hopes to normalize relations with Russia as soon as possible. This was announced to Izvestia on June 20 by Robert Agee, head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"We are very pleased with the new administration [of US President Donald Trump], which provides an opportunity to get a kind of renewed opportunity for interaction and, hopefully, to improve relations between the United States and Russia. This is ultimately our goal," he said.

Agee noted that much needs to be done in this direction, but American business is already cooperating with the Russian government and is striving to return to Russia.

In addition, the head of the American Chamber of Commerce noted the high attendance at the SPIEF session, which is devoted to business relations between Russia and the United States. According to him, an honest discussion took place between the parties with issues that need to be resolved between the countries "in order to restart business relations."

On June 19, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in the Izvestia studio at the SPIEF that foreign companies could return to Russia under certain conditions that would not harm Russian enterprises. He noted that companies should locate their production facilities in Russia, use Russian raw materials and local labor.
