Oreshkin said there was no impact of Western sanctions on the Russian economy.

The sanctions imposed by the West have not undermined the development of the Russian economy — it is still growing. Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia about this on June 20 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"Everything that Western countries could have done in terms of sanctions restrictions on Russia has already been implemented. And as we can see, this has not undermined the economic dynamics in our country. The economy continues to grow. More than 8% growth in 2023-2024," he said.
According to him, the raw materials industries have suffered greatly from the sanctions, gas production has decreased, but without the oil and gas industries, the country's economy has grown by 12% in two years.
"The economy has been rebuilt, it is also focused on its internal resources, it is focused on cooperation with countries that want to conduct economic relations with Russia — these are China, India, all the BRICS countries, countries of the global South, East, and so on," Oreshkin stressed.
He added that the West can no longer seriously influence the Russian economy.
"Somewhere out there, minor dirty tricks can be done, somewhere in some sphere, region. There will be some local problems for half a month or a month. But what is very important is that our business and our entrepreneurs have proven that they can handle all these problems. And we can thank our entrepreneurs for this," Oreshkin concluded.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on June 14 that during recent telephone conversations, Putin noted his personal relationship with Trump. He stressed that the established relations allow for frank and businesslike communication and seek solutions to pressing issues on the bilateral and international agenda.
