Moscow has agreed at the SPIEF on the construction of sports facilities

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and VTB CEO Andrey Kostin signed an agreement at the SPIEF on the construction of sports facilities in the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain. By 2029, a sports palace, a tennis center and a billiard palace will be built here, Sobyanin said on the Telegram channel.

Two ice playgrounds will be flooded in the new sports palace — for hockey and figure skating. The building will also be equipped with a universal sports room, gyms and martial arts.

The tennis center has 12 training courts and a multifunctional sports area. The billiard palace will be equipped for classes and competitions in Russian billiards, snooker, Chinese eight and pool, the mayor said.

In 2024, 17 sports facilities were built in Moscow at the expense of budgetary and extra-budgetary funds. The total area was about 140 thousand square meters. m. Among them there are sports and recreation complexes with swimming pools, a rowing base, an ice arena and others. The largest number of buildings appeared in the Central Administrative District of the city.
