The summer season is a time of vivid impressions and a beautiful tan. In order for a tan to be not only spectacular, but also safe, it is important to choose the right sun protection products and follow simple rules. Yulia Drobysheva, beauty expert, molecular biologist and chief technology developer of the Krassa brand, told Izvestia on June 22.

According to the expert, excessive exposure to sunlight can lead to burns and premature skin aging.

"Before going out in the sun, be sure to use products with SPF, apply them in 20 minutes and update them every 1-2 hours, especially after bathing. Even with protection, you should not be in direct sunlight from 11:00 to 16:00."

The biologist also recommends preparing the skin in advance: a few days before a beach holiday, use a scrub to tan evenly and moisturize the skin with a cream with natural oils.

"Don't forget to test sunscreen for allergies by applying it on your wrist. And the inclusion of carrots and spinach in the diet will help the skin to tolerate ultraviolet radiation more easily," Smirnova added.

The expert explained that sunscreens come in two types: mineral (they protect against UVA and UVB rays, but can leave a white mark) and chemical (they are less noticeable, but more often cause irritation).

"It is better to choose formulations with hyaluronic acid, vitamins and natural oils, avoiding alcohol and synthetic fragrances," she said.

For short sun baths, oils with SPF are suitable, which give the skin a bronze hue and moisturize it. However, for fair or baby skin, it is better to choose creams with a high level of protection.

After sunburn, the biologist advises using soothing sprays, gels or balms.

"To keep your tan longer, refrain from hot baths, as well as scrubs and harsh care products. Use mild shower gels and moisturizers to maintain a uniform shade," concluded Smirnova.

Earlier, on May 28, Marina Gureeva, associate professor of the Department of Pediatric Diseases at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, a dermatovenerologist, told Izvestia that the occurrence of rosacea can be affected by sunburn, severe stress, prolonged exposure to high or low temperatures. A diet with the consumption of large amounts of hot food and drinks can also lead to the disease.
