Patrushev called Siberia one of the drivers of the country's economic development.

Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, visited the Greater Siberia stand on June 20 as part of the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025). Together with Anatoly Seryshev, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the exposition and got acquainted with the achievements of the regions.
"The Siberian Federal District is rightfully considered one of the centers of the country's economic development. Due to its large-scale reserves of natural resources, Siberia is a pillar for strengthening Russia's industrial potential. In addition, high-tech enterprises and large hydropower facilities operate here. Combined with a strong human resource potential, all this makes it possible to develop the production of high-tech products. Work on the integrated development of the district is being carried out at the government site within the framework of a special "Incident" format. We consider the potential of each entity in terms of the development of mining and processing of minerals, agriculture, tourism, forestry and other sectors of the economy. I am sure this will have a positive impact on the growth of the socio-economic indicators of the district. I plan to hold the next meeting in July as part of a working trip to Siberia," Patrushev said.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the adopted strategy for the development of Siberia until 2035 provides for a cluster approach in key sectors of the economy.: "Timber, timber processing and forestry", "Aluminum processing", "Precious metals", "Non-ferrous and rare earth metals", "Tourism", "Agriculture and food industry", "Oil and gas" and "Coal". Within its framework, investments totaling about 18 trillion rubles will be attracted in the next 10 years for the implementation of only the largest projects.
Dmitry Patrushev added that the implementation of strategic plans will ensure a large-scale transformation of the socio-economic development of not only the Siberian Federal District in connection with the implementation of major infrastructure projects, but also the Russian economy as a whole.
The Siberian Federal District accounts for a tenth of the country's gross domestic product, about 10% of agricultural output, and about 12% of the volume of goods shipped and services performed. Siberia also creates transport, economic, and socio-cultural links between the Far East, the Arctic zone of Russia, and the Urals.
Work on the integrated development of the Siberian Federal District (the Republics of Altai, Tyva and Khakassia, the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions) is underway as part of Incident No. 62. The choice of this format of interagency interaction was initiated by the Deputy Prime Minister as the district supervisor and supported by the Prime Minister. It will allow to aggregate the activities of all regional development programs and get the maximum synergetic effect from their implementation.
On June 18, Alexey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, announced in the Izvestia studio at the SPIEF that the region was being developed in several directions. In terms of economic development, more than 3.7 thousand investment projects have already been launched.
