- Shmeleva spoke about supporting the development of gifted children in the Russian Federation

Russia has taken an unprecedented step in supporting young talents — Olympic facilities are now working for the future of children. This was stated in the Izvestia studio at the SPIEF on June 20 by Elena Shmeleva, Chairman of the Council of the Sirius Federal Territory, head of the Talent and Success Foundation.
"It is in this, albeit short, but in retrospect, that you and I see the unprecedented decision made by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, to transfer Olympic facilities to children's development programs. This is an example of strategic investment," Shmeleva said.
Shmeleva noted that previously these facilities were decommissioned, but now they serve the development of talents. In addition, no president in any other country in the world has made such decisions.
"We have invested this gigantic and wonderful infrastructure with our victories in history, in the development of talents of the whole country, of every subject of the Russian Federation. Over the past 10 years, Sirius has been creating unique educational programs that have no analogues not only in Russia, but also around the world," she said.
According to Shmeleva, Putin immediately set the task: to extract all the positive things from the Soviet education system and combine it with modern approaches by inviting the best teachers in the country.
"And the best teachers, playing coaches, as you know. That is, people who show by example what the highest professional industry standard is," she explained.
Shmeleva also added that Sirius has been creating completely unique educational programs for these 10 years, which have no analogues in the world, in Russia.
"We have no barriers between those who develop technologies or develop art, culture, and sports today, and those who actually look at them and copy their way of thinking, lifestyle, and planning," she concluded.
On May 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously stressed that both technological breakthroughs and triumphs in the field of sports and art were important to Russia. In addition, the Russian leader noted that the integration of the Sirius educational center into the implementation of national tasks is of key importance for the development of the whole country.
