Production of X-ray equipment will appear in St. Petersburg

An enterprise for the production of X-ray equipment will be built in St. Petersburg. The corresponding agreement was signed by the government of the Northern Capital and the Testron company at SPIEF 2015.

The project is being implemented with the aim of import substitution of similar foreign-made products. The investment amount will be 1.5 billion rubles. 80 new jobs will be created at the plant within five years, 78 TV channel reports.

As explained in the press service of the city committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade, the new production facility will cover the needs of industry, including enterprises of the defense industry, the oil and gas industry, the aerospace industry, and the semiconductor industry.

The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held from June 18 to 21, 2025 in the city on the Neva. It has been held every summer since 1997, with the exception of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2024, almost 22,000 people from 139 countries and territories took part in the forum, and 1,073 agreements worth over 6.4 trillion rubles were signed.
