FC Torpedo commented on the information about the detention of the owner and CEO

Investigative actions are being carried out against Leonid Sobolev, the owner of Torpedo Football club (FC), and Valery Skorodumov, the general director, while the team's work continues as normal. This was reported on June 20 in the FC Telegram channel.
Earlier in the day, the media reported on the detention of Sobolev and Skorodumov in a criminal case of attempted bribery of a judge.
"Our club is monitoring the progress of the investigation and will cooperate with the competent authorities within the framework of the law. We would like to assure everyone that the current operational activities of FC Torpedo Moscow continue as normal," reads a statement posted on the team's Telegram channel.
Sobolev's lawyer, Alexander Dobrovinsky, told Izvestia that his ward faces up to 7 years in prison. Sobolev is charged with unlawfully influencing the outcome of an official sports competition or a spectacular commercial competition. According to Dobrovinsky, the situation is developing in an "unpredictable way."
"Leonid had no idea what they were asking him," the lawyer stressed.
In May, Torpedo secured a place in the Russian Premier League (RPL) by finishing in second place at the end of the First League season. The winner of the First League was the Kaliningrad team Baltika.
