Attendance at the exhibition "Moscow. Kremlin. 1941-1945. Saved Treasures", which has been operating in the Main Lobby of the Armory since April 25, 2025, totaled 65,324 people.

The exhibition project pays tribute to the memory of the museum staff of the Great Patriotic War, thanks to whose invisible feat priceless historical and artistic treasures of world significance were preserved: on June 22, 1941, the packing and further evacuation of museum objects began. It is no coincidence that the exhibition is located in the Main Lobby of the Armory: most of the exhibits that visitors can see in the museum halls were evacuated to the Urals for three years and seven months in the summer of 1941 and returned safely to the Moscow Kremlin when the outcome of the war was already predetermined and the danger was over.

"June 22 is a tragic date in the history of our country that has touched everyone. This is an extremely important day for the Museums of the Moscow Kremlin. On the evening of June 22, 1941, the director of the Armory, Nikolai Zakharov, received an order from the commandant of the Kremlin, Major General Nikolai Spiridonov, to urgently begin preparing the museum collection for evacuation. The evacuation was carried out as soon as possible, at the cost of incredible efforts of all museum staff: on July 5, the valuable cargo arrived in Sverdlovsk, where it remained almost until the end of the Great Patriotic War. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, we are witnessing a very high interest of visitors to the Saved Treasures exhibition project, and we are introducing additional sessions for all tours dedicated to the exhibition," said Elena Gagarina, General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

In 1941, about three quarters of the exhibits, accounting documents and the library were removed from the Kremlin. Along with the monuments that survived the evacuation, visitors to the exhibition have a rare opportunity to see the personal belongings of the commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, N.K. Spiridonov, and the director of the Armory, N.N. Zakharov. These items are presented to the general public for the first time.

A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to the Order of Victory. The unique military award was established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on November 8, 1943 and was intended for the supreme command of the Soviet Army. At the same time, the Order of Glory, an analogue of the St. George's Cross, was introduced for enlisted and non–commissioned personnel. At the exhibition you can see the Order of Victory, awarded to Marshal of the Soviet Union F.I. Tolbukhin, as well as orders and medals of the Great Patriotic War: the Order of the Patriotic War I degree, medals "For the Defense of Stalingrad", "For the Capture of Berlin", the Orders of Alexander Nevsky, Kutuzov, Suvorov, Ushakov, Nakhimov, Zhukov and many others. others.
