- Araqchi ruled out negotiations with the United States in the context of ongoing Israeli strikes

The United States has requested negotiations from Iran, but Tehran has ruled out a diplomatic solution to the ongoing Israeli strikes. This was announced on June 20 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi.
According to him, there can be no talk of dialogue and diplomacy until the Israeli aggression is stopped.
"In this area, we consider the Americans to be allies and partners of the Zionist regime. There are several signs of cooperation between American troops in the region and the Zionist regime," the Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.
Araqchi added that the second meeting of the UN Security Council will be held on June 20, dedicated to the Israeli attacks and convened at the initiative of Russia, China and Pakistan.
The day before, Reuters reported on several telephone conversations between Araqchi and US President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steven Witkoff, since the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic. According to media reports, the parties briefly discussed the US proposal submitted to Iran in late May, which is aimed at creating a regional consortium for uranium enrichment outside the republic.
