Saveliev allowed the transformation of the Ministry of Transport into a new agency

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation may become the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and logistics against the background of the development of the industry. On June 20, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Vitaly Saveliev told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"I believe that the Ministry of Transport is also being transformed into the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Logistics," Saveliev said.

According to him, in the next 10-15 years, the industry will transform from exclusively transport to logistics, and will focus on services and transportation of goods with high added value. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that these changes will occur due to the development of technology and digitalization.

On June 18, Transport Minister Roman Starovoit announced that the strategy for the development of transport infrastructure until 2035 will be adjusted and expanded to the planning horizon until 2050. According to him, new technologies, digitalization, and unmanned vehicles were discussed in detail at the strategic session.
