The results of the second day of SPIEF 2025 have been summed up

The results of the second day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) were summed up in St. Petersburg. He proved to be rich in heated discussions.: the dispute over the key interest rate and methods of combating inflation and a new round of escalation in the Middle East. In addition to acute political and economic issues, media technologies of the future, the role of artificial intelligence in content creation and new trends were also discussed. Alexey Poltoranin, a correspondent for Izvestia, spoke about the events of the second day of the forum on June 20.
At SPIEF 2025, the language barrier is not an obstacle at all for the participants. Diamond dealers from South Africa are trying to weave needle lace from craftsmen from Ryazan, and coffee has united Kenya and the Komi Republic. It is grown in a hot country, and fried in the northern region of the Russian Federation. Kenya is currently looking for new partners.
"We have farmers who grow coffee, but they don't have a market. Therefore, if we get investors, it means that we will bring life to our young population," said Katherine Omanio, a representative of the National Assembly of Kenya.
Not all representatives disclose the transaction amounts, but the investments are huge: This year, the bar for transactions is expected to exceed 7.5 trillion rubles. Russia plans to sign major contracts, for example, with India.
"Of course, this is not only about the ties between India and Russia, but also about the opportunity to interact with the rest of the world through Russia, including Latin America and Africa. Cooperation within the framework of BRICS at this forum is simply amazing, especially considering the opportunities opening up here," said Manpreet Singh Nagi, President of the Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB).
Saudi Arabia, the invited country to the BRICS, has discovered travel to Russia over the past three years. In the first quarter of this year alone, almost 10,000 tourists came to our country.
"We are studying all regions. One of the interested ones is Tver, we will go and take a look, we will study the stands. I have a meeting with the governor there," said Bongaji Fawzi Ali, founder of the International Tourism Corporation.
Both Russian regions and companies sign large contracts with each other. So, during SPIEF 2025, AvtoVAZ and T-Bank signed a memorandum of strategic partnership. The two companies will jointly develop remote sales channels. Through the T-Auto service, you can already purchase a car online and it will be delivered to your home — the entire range of LADA cars is available to customers.
"This is a full purchase service, not just ordering a car. This is both financing and insurance. All the services available in T-Bank are now available to customers when buying a LADA car," said Denis Musienko, Director of Auto Segment Development at T—Bank, CEO of T-Avto.
The final figures on the number of guests and the amount of investments will be announced on the last day of the forum.
On June 19, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) paid special attention to artificial intelligence, including the fight against deepfakes. In addition, issues related to neural networks were raised, in particular, neural network TV presenters are already reading news written by people. In the future, it is also possible that robots will generate them.
