Evgeny Latysh, a hunting and fishing specialist, said that only one fishing rod with one hook is allowed during spawning, and the use of nets is considered poaching and entails criminal liability.

"When there is spawning, you only need one fishing rod and one hook. But it's better, of course, to endure and just not fish. I believe that it is necessary to generally close fishing during spawning," the specialist said in an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, June 19.

According to him, even if the fish is released back into the water, it can get injured.

"The fact that she got hooked and was outdoors for 30 seconds is a problem," the Latvian stressed.

He expressed the hope that people will move to a more conscious approach to fishing and hunting, without poaching and harming nature.
