The scammers informed the elderly woman that unknown persons had allegedly gained access to her bank account. After threats of criminal prosecution, the victim agreed to transfer funds to an outside account, Bi-port news agency writes.

In Kovdorsky district, scammers offered a 58-year-old man to "assist" in catching criminals. Under various pretexts, the man lost almost 3 million rubles.

In Moscow, a pensioner lost more than 21 million rubles due to fraud.
