State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab told when a woman has the right to additional breaks from work.

In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, June 19, she explained that additional work breaks are allowed for women with children under one and a half years old.

"A woman with a child under the age of one and a half years has the right to additional breaks for feeding the child at least every three hours lasting at least 30 minutes each," she said.

If there are two or more children, the break increases to an hour. At the request of a woman, it can be attached to the lunch break or moved to the beginning or end of the working day. Breaks are included in working hours and are paid according to average earnings.

In April, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said in an interview with RT that reducing the working day for women by one hour would lead to discrimination. The deputy noted that the redistribution should take place within the working week, for example, by reducing breaks or increasing shifts. The main thing is to keep the total number of working hours so as not to overload the employer and the budget, he notes 360.ru . He concluded that it is important not to propose mechanisms that could encourage employers to discriminate against women when applying for jobs.

At the same time, State Duma deputy Igor Antropenko said that an initiative was being discussed in Russia to reduce the working day for women by one hour while maintaining wages in order to give them more time for family matters.

Earlier, the Liberal Democratic Party proposed to reduce working hours to 39 hours per week for women with two or more minor children, the website writes. kp.ru .
