Iran's weapons turned out to be unexpectedly high-tech. This opinion was expressed by military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk on Thursday, June 19. He noted that the Israeli "Iron Dome" was unable to repel the attacks of the Iranian missiles.

According to the expert, several conclusions follow from the conflict between Israel and Iran.

"First of all, Israel did not succeed in the blitzkrieg. He did not take into account the air defense, and the data obtained by the American and British intelligence services, as it turned out, gave a false picture. Secondly, many of Iran's missiles turned out to be noticeably more high-tech than everyone thought," he said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The colonel drew attention to the fact that the Iranian missiles were able to overcome even such a seemingly impenetrable barrier as the Israeli Iron Dome. He also noted that Israel's decision to rely on aviation turned out to be quite unsuccessful — Iran responded more effectively by using missiles for various purposes.

"Here, of course, the question immediately arises, why didn't Iran use its aircraft? But I think he just hid it in case he had to resort to it as part of land operations," Matviychuk suggested.

Earlier in the day, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council (NSC) Iran has stated that until Israel is punished and reparations are paid to the Islamic Republic, Iran's strikes will continue, RT reports.

It is also reported that if a third party intervenes in the conflict, Iran will fight back, Regnum news agency reports.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the involvement of the United States in the conflict between Iran and Israel would mean an additional round of escalation for the entire region. According to him, US President Donald Trump has not shared with Russia his plans for action in the situation in the Middle East.

Earlier, on June 13, Israel struck Iran and declared a state of emergency. At that time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that the purpose of the military operation was to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, the Islamic Republic launched several waves of missile attacks.
