The PSB assessed the financing of innovation in Russia
The level of innovation activity of Russian companies is still only 10-12%, despite the fact that financing of new developments has almost doubled over the past five years. This is significantly lower than in other countries, said Peter Fradkov, Chairman of the PSB, at a business breakfast at SPIEF 2025.
Fradkov noted that financing is an important, but not the main, part of the innovation economy. "This is, first of all, an effective system for selecting, promoting and implementing promising ideas and technologies, consisting of many elements," the head of the PSB emphasized in his welcoming speech to the participants of the business breakfast.
The event entitled "Investing in the Future: Innovation as the foundation of the Russian Economy" was organized by the PSB in cooperation with Innopraktika. The main topic was the development of innovative projects in Russia and the prospects for research and development.
During the discussion, experts discussed the impact of innovation on the competitiveness of Russian regions, the need to train highly qualified personnel in technology industries, and additional measures to support technology companies.
Among the participants of the business breakfast were Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Alexander Brechalov, Head of the Udmurt Republic, Dmitry Dubynin, General Director of NSPK JSC, Andrey Nikipelov, Deputy General Director of Rosatom, and other high—ranking officials and heads of large companies.
