Lyubimova named the professions in demand in the cultural sector of the Russian Federation

Professions related to technical work are in greater demand in the cultural sector. Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, announced this on June 19 at the Izvestia studio within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"As in any industry, we have in-demand positions, and, of course, they are more related to technical work. We need sound engineers more, we need lighting designers more, lighting designers more," she said.

According to her, artists, costumers, make-up artists, and makeup artists are in high demand in the labor market.

"From the point of view of how to start and stop fountains and preserve them for the future generation, this is also relevant, as are antique clock specialists, furniture specialists, restorers. That's all that's really going to be said at every panel discussion right now, I think, about how physical labor is necessary, in addition to very serious semi—philosophical conversations about artificial intelligence," Lyubimova said.

At the same time, the minister stressed that Russia has consistently high competition for creative universities. She gave the example that there is an institution where up to 80 applicants apply for one place.

Lyubimova also noted that young people dream of becoming artists, and there is a whole trend in art related to industrial development. According to her, it is quite fashionable.
