On June 19, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum hosted one of the key expert sessions of the business program, "National Priority: Implementation of Investment Projects under constraints," organized by the Gazstroyprom construction Holding.

The session brought together the leaders of the industrial and infrastructure construction sectors — Gazprom, Rosatom, Sibur, Severstal, VEB.RF.

During the discussion, a market development model was discussed that ensures technological sovereignty and the implementation of Russia's Energy Strategy until 2050.

Gazprom laid the foundation for technological independence 20 years ago. This allowed the transformation to take place not in an anti-crisis mode, but according to a pre-planned plan. From the very beginning, we have been striving to increase efficiency in the implementation of investment projects. It was in this logic that Gazstroyprom was created. We have set a clear goal for the company — to develop engineering competencies. Today, Gazstroyprom's portfolio already includes full-cycle projects, which it manages: from the preparation of working documentation to commissioning. This means that the company is mastering a new level, and we are rebuilding the standards of its work so that it is able to work effectively as an EPC contractor," said Oleg Aksyutin, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

"Industrial construction 2.0 requires the combined efforts of all market participants — customers, contractors, and regulators. Only in the format of a professional community can transparent pricing, unified approaches to cost calculation, certification of contractors, development of competence centers, as well as regular exchange of practices and information be ensured," said Nikolay Tkachenko, CEO of Gazstroyprom JSC.

During the discussion, common trends and the desire to develop common norms and rules as soon as possible were identified. The participants agreed that it is necessary to quickly create unified standards and financing mechanisms that will make the market transparent and understandable for contractors.
