MTS invests 7 billion rubles in the development of telecom and IT infrastructure in the Moscow region

MTS intends to invest about 7 billion rubles in the development of telecommunications infrastructure and the digital economy of the Moscow region by the end of 2030. A corresponding cooperation agreement was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

The agreement provides for the implementation of seven projects in the region. For example, it is planned to build a data processing center in Naro-Fominsk. Its launch, according to MTS,

The Moscow region also intends to continue building support and distribution fiber-optic communication lines, develop fixed and mobile communication networks to expand access to high-speed Internet, as well as improve the quality of mobile communications in settlements, industrial and transport facilities.

MTS will also act as a partner in new projects for the integrated digitalization of buildings and territories of five state industrial parks in the Moscow region.

The company will install base stations for uninterrupted coverage on the Yuzhno-Lytkarinskaya highway.

The implementation of the second stage of the MTS project to equip central heating units with temperature and pressure sensors with data transmission to the departmental monitoring information system will also begin in the cities of the Moscow region.

In addition, the use of MTS geoanalytics services will be expanded in the Moscow Region. They will help make decisions in the construction of housing, social and cultural facilities, transport infrastructure, and the creation of recreational and tourist areas.

Another project involves the implementation of MTS communication solutions for business communications, training and collaboration, as well as for large online conferences, teleconferences and direct lines.

MTS CEO Inessa Galaktionova noted that since 2013, the company has signed its third agreement with the government of the Moscow Region on the development of telecom infrastructure, "thereby improving the quality of life of people and contributing to the socio-economic development of the region."
