Gazprom Neft expands cooperation with Tatarstan

Gazprom Neft and the Republic of Tatarstan signed an agreement during SPIEF 2025 on the creation of new chemical reagents to enhance oil recovery. This was reported by the company.
The document was signed by Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Management Board, and Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"It is important for the entire industry to have a stable supply base of chemicals that meet the requirements of modern oil and gas production. On the horizon until 2036, innovative methods of increasing oil recovery will allow hundreds of millions of tons of hard-to-recover reserves to be involved in the development. The agreement with the Republic of Tatarstan continues our long—term work with the region and opens up opportunities for joint development and further replication of new components for oil production nationwide," said Alexander Dyukov.
"The development of petrochemistry and the creation of our own line of chemical reagents is an important element of the industrial policy of the Republic of Tatarstan. The partnership with Gazprom Neft will provide an additional incentive for the development of science, technology and production competencies in the region. The republic is ready to create all the necessary conditions for the implementation of projects and the introduction of developments into production practice," said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The partnership will ensure the implementation of scientific, technical and production projects related to the development of new reagents to increase production efficiency, fluids for drilling and hydraulic fracturing, as well as formulations for oilfield chemicals. It is planned to organize and launch the release of new materials on the territory of the Republic.
A consortium of scientific and production companies established in Tatarstan will focus on scientific research, creation and testing of new compositions for the intensification of production at mature fields. The project will create a complete scientific and production chain that will cover all stages of the creation of innovative low—tonnage petrochemicals - from research, development and testing of substances to the manufacture and supply of finished products. At one stage, an innovative platform for accelerated design of chemical products for oil production using artificial intelligence and chemoinformatics methods will be integrated. Its use will help reduce the development time of chemical reagents from three to four years to three to six months.
