St. Isaac's Cathedral Youth Choir performed at SPIEF 2025

On June 19, 2025, the St. Isaac's Cathedral Youth Choir performed at one of the venues of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The performance took place with the support of GIGA GROUPS, as part of the St. Petersburg Seasons Cultural Festival of the SPIEF and became a bright highlight of the eventful program of the Forum.

The St. Isaac's Cathedral Youth Choir was established on October 14, 2021 with the blessing of Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga. The idea of creating the collective belongs to the sacristan of St. Isaac's Cathedral, Archpriest Roman Kovalsky. Larisa Khristich is the artistic director and conductor of the choir.

The choir unites boys and girls between the ages of 18 and 35. The band actively participates in divine services at St. Isaac's Cathedral, and also conducts concert activities, performing at city events, choral festivals and competitions. The repertoire includes spiritual, classical, folk and modern music.

Among the significant projects of the choir are a concert in honor of the 350th anniversary of Emperor Peter I, a program dedicated to the work of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov "Love does not seek its own", participation in the "Choral Seasons on Vitebsk", as well as the presentation of the Anthem of St. Isaac's Cathedral in June 2022 on the steps of the temple.

The team is a laureate of a number of prestigious competitions. In 2023, the choir won the first degree at the VIII International Choral Festival-Competition "Premonition of the Nativity of Christ" and in the All-Russian Competition named after A.K. Lyadov. In 2024, he became a laureate of the III degree at the I.V. Roganova Rainbow Festival and at the III Patriarchal International Festival of Sacred Music "Light of Christ".

The performance at SPIEF 2025 was a continuation of the team's participation in the Petersburg Seasons festival, which unites the leading creative forces of the city and forms the cultural atmosphere of the Forum.
