The Moscow City Duma talked about the benefits of paid parking for the city

New sections of streets have been added to the residential permit zone in Moscow since June 20. The changes will give local residents priority when parking a car near their home, explained Stepan Orlov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Duma.
"A well—organized paid parking system makes it possible to reduce the randomness of parking, free the roadway from illegally parked cars, thereby reducing congestion and improving road safety," said Orlov.
According to him, drivers will be able to find parking spaces faster, as their turnover will increase and parking lots will be vacated faster. In addition, paid parking reduces the number of violations of the rules of stopping and parking. The arrival time of emergency services is also shortened, and this increases security in the city, according to the deputy chairman of the Moscow City Duma.
Orlov noted that paid parking encourages residents to use public transport, bicycles or walk, which helps reduce emissions of harmful substances and improve the environmental situation in the city.
"The proceeds in Moscow are used to improve courtyards in all areas of the city, so they are returned to the citizens in the form of beautiful and modern house territories," Orlov added.
The Moscow Department of Transport recalled that all the money from paid parking is directed to the improvement of house territories, and 1,000-1,500 yards are built on them annually.
