Novak and the head of the Turkish Energy Ministry discussed the creation of a gas hub


Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Alparslan Bayraktar, Head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, discussed the possibility of creating a gas hub and the conditions for the supply of resources from Russia to Turkey. This was reported on the website of the Russian government on June 19.
The meeting was held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"The parties discussed cooperation in the oil, gas, coal, electric power and nuclear industries. They discussed the creation of a gas hub, the conditions for the supply of Russian energy resources to the Turkish market, and the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant.
According to Novak, Russia continues to be a reliable supplier of gas, oil and other minerals to the Turkish market.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister invited Bayraktar and the Turkish delegation to participate in the Russian Energy Week forum. The event will take place from October 15 to October 17 in Moscow.
Earlier, on May 27, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that during the talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan raised issues related to energy cooperation.
In addition, on the same day, at a press conference in Moscow, Fidan announced that the Russian Federation was informing Turkey about attacks on the infrastructure of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline from Ukraine. He noted that so far no damage has been caused to the Turkish Stream.
