Putin and Xi Jinping noted Zelensky's failure at the G7 summit
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, noted the unsuccessful nature of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky's trip to the G7 summit in Canada. This was announced on June 19 by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"The leaders discussed the results of the recent G7 meeting in Canada. In particular, they noted the well—known rough edges that manifested themselves in the relations between the participants of this meeting," Ushakov said.
In addition, Putin and Xi Jinping discussed the situation in the Middle East. In particular, the countries condemned Israel's actions against Iran and called on the parties to resolve the conflict peacefully. The leaders of Russia and China also discussed the development of bilateral relations between the states and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation.
The day before, the British newspaper The Guardian reported that Zelensky looked sad and annoyed at the G7 summit in Canada. According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian leader was unable to meet with US President Donald Trump due to his departure to Washington.
