A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the Center group of forces have advanced deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and liberated the settlement of Novonikolayevka in the DPR. As a result of the group's actions, the enemy lost up to 460 militants, seven armored fighting vehicles, two vehicles and three field artillery pieces, including a 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery system made in Poland.

The Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depths of the enemy's defenses, while the Zapad group of forces improved the tactical situation.

"The units of the North group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. They defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment from two mechanized, jaeger, amphibious assault brigades and two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Novaya Sich, Alekseevka, Pisarevka, Andreevka, Ryzhevka and Kondratovka in the Sumy region," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In addition, aviation, artillery, missile forces and drones defeated an enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, workshops for the production and assembly of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), their storage sites, ammunition depots, fuel, as well as temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nationalists and mercenaries in 152 districts.

The Air Defense Forces, in turn, shot down seven American-made JDAM guided aerial bombs, as well as 234 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 64,440 UAVs, 611 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,963 tanks and other armored personnel carriers, 1,572 multiple rocket launchers, 26,372 field artillery and mortars, 37,029 units of special military vehicles.
