- Sovcombank's fintech services and data processing center to be built in Kostroma

Sovcombank is investing 4.7 billion rubles in the creation of a fintech center in Kostroma. The corresponding agreement was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by Sergey Khotimsky, First Deputy Chairman of the bank's Board, and Sergey Sitnikov, Governor of the Kostroma Region.
According to the document, a modern center for the development of fintech services and data processing will be built in Kostroma, which will become one of the bank's key technology platforms, Sovcombank noted. The implementation of the project will create almost 2 thousand highly qualified jobs for the residents of the region.
As Khotimsky emphasized, the creation of a fintech center is an important step of the bank in terms of the development of the region. The implementation of the project "will open up opportunities for professional growth in the field of financial technology for residents of the region, including graduates of Kostroma State University, without the need to move to other cities," he added.
In turn, Sitnikov called the agreement a significant milestone for the region's policy of creating modern jobs. He recalled that several years ago Sovcombank upgraded the building of Kostroma State University, "creating all the conditions for the training of top-class IT specialists." "Now these graduates will be able to work in the new data processing center," the governor said. "This is a logical continuation of our strategy for the development of the region, where special attention is paid to the creation of modern, high—tech jobs in various industries."
